"It's pretty hard to tell what does bring happiness.  Poverty and
wealth have both failed.
~Frank McKinney "Kin" Hubbard

Good morning!
What is on the list you mentally keep of "things that will make you happy?" I used to have a long list. I needed some more "me" time, I needed more one-on-one time with my daughter or spouse or friends. I needed more money or less debt. Interestingly, one of things that I have found that is most helpful in creating happiness right here and now is to throw out your list of "what I need to be happy."

Happiness isn't gained when we achieve something. When we achieve something we gain only that which we were trying to achieve. Happiness is created, moment-to-moment by choice. It isn't waiting anywhere for us, it is already here.

Here are a few more valuable happiness quotes:

"Happiness is like a butterfly which, when pursued, is always beyond
our grasp, but, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you."
~Nathaniel Hawthorne

"We tend to forget that happiness doesn't come as a result of
getting something we don't have, but rather of recognizing and
appreciating what we do have."
~Frederick Keonig

Your Turn:
Let go of the concept that happiness comes with achievement.
Realize happiness is right here, right now. Commit to discovering
it.

Your affirmation:
I choose to be happy.

And as always, don't forget to start your day with a heartfelt: "Something great is going to happen today... I can't wait to see what it is!"

And when ending your day ask yourself:
"What is one more thing I can do to make today matter?"
