Course Summary:
In Week 1, you will learn how to inventory and
stock your pantry. A well-stocked pantry is key
to having an efficient meal planning system in
place. It will also save you money as you use
what you buybefore
it expires (or starts to grow things). We will
also talk about the use of coupons and circulars
to plan our shopping trips so that we can have
nutritious meals while saving money at the same
time. Lastly, we will begin sorting existing
recipes to make meal planning easier when we
begin our monthly plan next week.
In Week 2, you will begin learning how to
write a menu plan for your family. We will
complete a 30 Day Dinner Meal plan, complete
with shopping lists. You will also learn about
cooking and freezing for ready-to-reheat meals
on hand when needed. We will also talk about
using the crockpot to have a ready-to-eat meal
available on the busiest of days.
These two weeks will bring you closer
to an organized pantry and meal plan so that the
next time the kids yell "What's for dinner?" you
will not have to answer "Pizza Hut!" |
