Good morning! Through the Make Today Matter
program, I am privileged to work with women from all walks of life. I
have found that most women greet positive change with open arms when
given the proper tools. Yet there are some people who just can't commit
to a new approach. They waiver in their efforts and eventually go back
to patterns that weren't working, and become frustrated when they don't
realize the changes they desire.
Einstein is right - doing the
same thing over and over and expecting the result to be different is
insanity. Imagine typing 2 + 2 into your calculator over and over and
over and over again. Do you think it would magically equal 6 at some
point? Of course not, that would be insane! But that is what many of us
do in our lives. We want a different result - but we don't modify our
actions or our attitude. We might want a more fulfilling relationship,
but we don't change how we communicate. We might want a more rewarding
career, but we don't change our efforts. We might want to be healthier,
but we don't change our unhealthy routines. To think we will reach the
desired outcome without "doing some work" and "changing our approach"
is insanity.
We have to learn to think of
change and personal-evolvement as fun! It is a chance to think outside
the box, try new things, live a richer life, ask good questions, and
discover new truths.
Your Turn:
Where in your life have you been desiring change without modifying your action or attitude? Pick one area and make a behavior modification that you can stick with. Your Affirmation: Change is the chance to challenge and improve my life. | |||||||
