"Don't be afraid to give up the good for the great."
~Kenny Rogers

Good morning!

Earlier, we talked about how in order to cross the ocean toward our dreams; we have to be able to risk losing sight of the shore. To me, this quote expands on that theme and also the theme of "always doing your best". Often times, as we change, we hit plateaus. Sometimes the plateaus aren't ones that we like, other times they are very comfortable. We have made a step forward, a big step, and we enjoy and reap the benefits of our hard work.

And we should. We deserve it. However, we can't confuse a plateau with a stepping stone. It only becomes a plateau when we refuse to let it spiral us upward something more. As Kenny says, we cannot be "afraid to give up the good for the great."

Your turn: Take a moment to pat yourself on the back for the positive strides you have taken. Let those steps be a demonstration of the willpower and strength you have within you. Then dedicate yourself to stepping up to the next level.

Your affirmation: I let go of the good and inherit the great.

And as always, don't forget to start your day with a heartfelt "Something great is going to happen today... I can't wait to see what it is!"

And when ending your day ask yourself, "What is one more thing I can do to make today matter?"
