"If you ask
me what I came to do in this world, I will answer you:
'I am here to live out loud'"--Emile Zola
Good
morning!
This quote has always resonated with me. I
actually found it on an inspirational wall calendar my mother had given
me years ago. I placed a photo of me doing a running-leap and
breaking a board in karate and mounted it over the photo on the
calendar. I then framed it and look at it often as an inspiration of
what I can do when I set my mind to it.
Karate had always interested me. When I was
little, I remember envying other kids who were enrolled at a young age
and earned their various belts. I liked the idea of being able to
protect myself. When my daughter was five, I took her to a local karate
studio, wanting her to have the experience that I hadn't. While there,
the Master of the studio talked me in to giving it a whirl. I fell in
love with the discipline.
Your turn: What
hidden dreams or goals or childhood ambitions do you have? Why not
pursue them? Why not live out loud? Pick up a paint brush, join a
karate, or jazz dancing class. It is never too late to pursue a
childhood dream, unless we allow it to be.
Your affirmation: I
pursue my ambitions, treating them with as much importance as I do
those of my family members.
