Procrastination is a word that has haunted many people but it doesn't have to! While many people would have you believe that springing into action and "just doing it" is the quickest cure, it isn't a long-term solution. All actions start with attitude. We have to uncover why we procrastinate and cure the cause in order to find long-term relief.

Only those who do nothing at all make no mistakes... but that would be a mistake. ~Unknown

Good morning!  Yesterday we looked at how often we withdraw from a new experience because there is no reassurance of guarantee. I thought this simple quote fit nicely with that topic as well.

Last week I was thinking about how so many of us become addicted to "right" and "wrong." As children, we learn our limits and our boundaries and life is often spelled out simply as right or wrong. Our tests in school are graded right and wrong, not leaving a lot of room for grey. We know that the kids with the A and B average are doing something "right." We know classmates with lower averages are doing something "wrong."

And we take this simplistic thinking into our adult life. We often make decisions based on what is "right" or "wrong." But how much of life is really that clear? Life certainly would be simple if it worked that way, but more often than not, unless we are taking a test, it doesn't. Often we don't take a chance or try something new or share an opinion for fear that we will be "wrong." While not sharing certainly allows us the safety of "not being wrong," it doesn't by default "make us right." Just as in today's quote - if we do nothing at all, we make no mistakes -- but that in itself is a mistake.

Your Turn:
What role does right and wrong thinking play in your own life? Do you shy away from situations for fear of being wrong? Reflect on how such behavior might be limiting your life.

Your affirmation:
I am open, sharing and courageous on issues I care about.
