 April 10 ... Good Morning!

"I am an optimist. It does not seem too much use being anything else." Winston Churchill

Good morning!  I laughed when I came across this quote. Winston has a very good point, doesn't he? We know what happens to the pessimist - they live a sad, pessimistic life. Since we can choose whether to be optimistic or pessimistic about any single situation, what use would pessimism serve? We have all chosen pessimism from time to time. We know what that looks like. We feel bad about ourselves or the situation at hand. I don't know about you, but that doesn't sound like much fun to me!

Likewise we know what optimism feels like when we ask ourselves creative questions, use creative thinking, and look for the good that rests somewhere (although sometimes hard to find) in every situation.

If I asked you this question: Would you rather I give you $500.00 or you owe me $500.00 what would you choose? My guess is the choice is obvious and quick. You would choose to take $500.00. Optimism gives to our lives, pessimism takes away and leaves us bankrupt. The choice should be as simple as the money question example.

Your Turn:
Today, find the silver lining in each encounter that comes your way.

Your affirmation:
I am optimistic.
