“You may have to fight a
battle more than once to win it.” ~
Margaret Thatcher
Good
morning!
I love
Thatcher’s quote, because it reminds me that things
rarely go as planned the first time around, regardless of whether the
challenge
is about personal change, career, family, our homes, or some other area.
In a society
that places emphasis on perfection, we often don’t
give ourselves enough leeway to “find our answers.”
Instead, when we make a plan and it doesn’t
work, we jump ship, forgetting the wisdom in Thatcher’s words: “You may
have to
fight a battle more than once to win it.”
Each time we go
through an experience, even if it doesn’t
turn out as we planned, we gain knowledge for the next time around. That knowledge is what
builds success. Success
and happiness aren’t built by “getting
lucky on the first try,” but by the wisdom gained from standing back up
and
trying again after we fail.
Your Turn: What area
of our life is calling you to get back up and try again?
Today’s Affirmation:
Just as much joy can be found in the second or
third attempt as the
first.
And as always, don't forget
to
start your day with a heartfelt: "Something great is
going to
happen today... I can't wait to see what it is!"
And when ending
your day ask yourself: "What is one more thing I can do
to
make today matter?
