Good morning!

I chose this quote because today is my mother’s birthday.  Happy birthday, Mom!  I was extremely blessed throughout childhood to have a loving, caring, tender mother who left many wonderful “marks” on my childhood.  My mother is a beacon of strength, wisdom, and determination.  A single parent since I was eight months old, she worked very hard to give me and my brother a wonderful childhood filled with tender moments and memories.  Beyond that, she instilled in me the knowledge and complete belief that I can do anything I set out to do.

I remember expressing my fear that we would not be able to afford for me to go to college.  She simply looked at me and said, “Of course we can; we will just sell the house.” A complex problem was solved by one woman’s conviction to raise her children as she wished she had been raised.

Your Turn:  What mark will you leave for your children or the youngsters around you?  Remember that when we don’t make a choice, life often chooses for us.

Today’s Affirmation:  I love, encourage, and empower my children through word and deed each day.
