"Never underestimate the power of simple courtesy. Your courtesy may not be returned or remembered, but discourtesy will."--Princess Jackson Smith

Good morning!  A friend forwarded this quote my way as a basis for a good morning.. (hint, hint... if you have any favorites email them to me with the subject line 'Good Morning Quote Idea'). In any event, with Thanksgiving just around the corner, I have been thinking a lot about ways to make more time in our busy lives to "give thanks." (See this week's Challenge Weekly for one idea.)

I have been traveling a lot lately--more than usual. When I think of "giving thanks" it is always elaborate... I want to celebrate someone or the gift they have brought to my life. But as we get busy, and busier still, often our elaborate plans of thanks, or homemade gifts, or handwritten notes, sadly get lost in the hustle and bustle. This quote is a wonderful reminder of how powerful a simple sentence, spoken or written from the heart, can be. So today I want to "dedicate" this Good Morning (something I haven't done before) to my staff who support me day in and day out--know that every day I think of you all with great appreciation -- and I have never closed my eyes without having you on my daily gratitude list, either in thought or in ink.

Your Turn:
Let's make "thanks" simple today. Tell as many people as you can "thank you" for whatever they have done, large or small. Buy some cards, send some emails, pick up the phone, sincerely thank the person at the drive-thru window -- keep it simple. Look as many people in the eye as you can, and give them two heartfelt words that make all the difference -- "Thank You."

Your Affirmation:
I am thankful for my life and for all the people within

And as always, don't forget to start your day with a heartfelt "Something great is going to happen today... I can't wait to see what it is!"

And when ending your day ask yourself, "What is one more thing I can do to make today matter?"
